Dishes still dirty? Try this first
- Clean the filter. Most newer dishwashers have one in the bottom that twists out for rinsing. A clogged filter is behind a lot of dirty dishes.
- Run the kitchen tap until it's hot before you start a cycle.
- Check the spray arms. They should spin freely, and the little holes shouldn't be plugged.
- Use rinse aid if you have hard water or a well. It cuts down on that white film.
Still no luck? It's usually the wash pump or the heater. That's where we come in.
Other problems we fix
- Standing water after the cycle. A clogged filter or drain hose, or a drain pump that's quit.
- Leaks at the door. A worn door seal, a sagging door, or a leaking pump. Don't wait on these. A slow leak can ruin a floor.
- Won't start, or stops mid-cycle. Usually the door latch, the control board, or a safety switch that thinks it's flooding.
- Dishes come out wet. Often the heater, the vent, or no rinse aid.
Brands we see
Bosch, Miele, Thermador, Samsung, LG, and nearly every other make. Higher-end dishwashers are often worth fixing. If yours isn't, we'll tell you honestly.
Need a new one?
We install dishwashers too. We set it in place, connect it, level it, and check it before we leave. See appliance installation. For buying advice, our appliance picks page explains why we lean toward stainless tubs and which brands we trust.
★★★★★
“Small family business. Very affordable. Quick service. Had my dishwasher back up in 20 mins when several other local appliance repair shops said they would not work on Samsung appliances. Highly recommend”
Questions we hear a lot
Is a little water in the bottom normal?
On many models, yes. A small amount stays in the bottom on purpose. Water sitting above the filter isn't normal.
Is it the dishwasher or my sink?
If the sink is slow too, or the disposal is jammed, the clog may be in the drain they share. We check both, and we fix disposals too.
Can you install one I bought somewhere else?
Yes. Installs are a regular part of what we do.
Do you come to Verona and Fishersville?
Yes. Verona and Fishersville are both part of our community, and we're there regularly.
